Who can form a UK company?
Anybody can form a UK company providing the director(s) are aged 16 or over and that the director is not an undischarged bankrupt. It is not necessary for the directors or shareholders to be resident in the UK, however you will need to provide a physical address within the UK for the registered office.
Can I form a company with just one person?
Yes, a company needs to have one director and one shareholder and the same person can fulfil both those roles.
What do I need to supply?
We need the name of your new company, the registered office address and full names & addresses of all people involved (directors, secretary, shareholders). You can save and return to your application at any time should you need to seek further information.
Where can my company be registered?
You can use our website to register a company in England, Wales, Scotland or Northern Ireland.

What Articles do you provide?

Do I need to register for VAT?
You will need to register for VAT if your sales have been (or forecast to be) over £68,000 for the last 12 months (otherwise you may register voluntarily).
Do I need to sign anything?
No. During the application we will ask for some personal details (birth place, eye colour etc) and this will act as your digital signature and consent.
Don't I need a solicitor or accountant to do this?
No you don't - we can handle the whole process from start to finish. In fact, we provide company formation services to many accountants & solicitors.
How long will it take to complete the whole process?
It usually takes about 10 minutes to complete our simple application form. Once the application has been lodged it can take anywhere from 1 to 6 hours for processing to take place, however we find the usual turnaround time is 4 hours. It is possible to pay a little bit extra and get same day processing.
How do I change details once the company has been formed?
Changing the details of your company can be done directly with us. When your company is registered we provide you with all the information you need.
What happens if I make a mistake?
Our application system allows you to review and amend your details at any time during the initial stages. When your application has been lodged it becomes locked and you'll be unable to modify your details from that point forward. If your application is rejected by Companies House for any reason then you'll be able to get access to your details so you can fix up the mistakes.
What do I receive when everything is complete?
You will receive the official Certificate of Incorporation from the government via email and on our website. You will also receive other documents that are mandatory when you form a UK company: Memorandum of Association, Articles of Association, First Board Minutes, Share certificates etc.
Do I need to post or lodge anything by hand?
No, the entire process can be done online.
Do you provide legal advice about running my company?
Unfortunately no. We are solely a company formation website and do not advise our customers about the advantages & disadvantages of the company structure. We do however have some general information in our resources section (to the right) where you can learn more about companies.
What's your refund policy?
Refunds are provided at the discretion of management. If you wish to apply for a refund you need to email us with your customer details and the reason for the request.
